Local seniors and instructors appear with me and so far we have gotten great feedback from viewers:
    • 92-year old Pauline Lindsey from Sevierville enjoys watching the show:
I gets up every morning and exercise with you, and it has really helped me. My balance is improved and my arms aren't so "flabby" anymore. I just wanted you to know you help me!

    • Occasional Fit and Fun guest Delia of "The Plus Factor" says:
Working out is the best medicine for menopause - you won't know if you're sweating from the hormonal change or from working out!

We should look at exercise as a way of keeping better flexibility in our hip area and putting that pep back in your step, which always makes us look younger!

If we made working out a part of our routine at least 45 minutes a day, just think thats one less meal we're eating! (deciding what to eat, driving to get it and eating it)

    • Nancy provides an interesting observation:
One of my favorite quotes is "You can't start over and make a new beginning, but you can start from now and make a new ending"

This is so hard for some who struggle with weight management, as they often see their world in black and white. They are either "on" their diet or "off", with no grey area inbetween.

Just because you eat a whole bag of cookies and feel as if you have "failed", doesn't mean that you can't eat veggies for dinner and go take a walk, to get some positive behaviors back in place.

    • Nell has a success story and a question:
"I watch your show every morning. I have lost 80 pounds. I like the yoga segments and the segments with the ball. I heard you mention that the show had some fitness bands for sale. I don't have any of those and would be interested in purchasing some. How do I do that? Thanks again for your show."
Anyone can purchase exercise bands for $5.00 each. Just send a check payable to Covenant Health to:

      Covenant Health Call Center
      1921 Topside Rd.
      Suite #201
      Louisville, TN 37777

    • Mike Galloway is also appreciative:

"I'm 70, Missy, and I know that the exercise program that you have each day is truly appreciated by many of us seniors. Having moved back to east Tennessee from many years in St. Louis, I am very appreciative of the time that you share with all seniors. Thanks again!"

    • Here's a message from Art:
"One REALLY GOOD thing I like about Fit & Fun is that my enthusiasm goes up and down, and when it's down you bring me back up and get me going again. Usually these attacks of low (not real low, however) enthusiasm last for no more than 3 pr 4 days. I appreciate the motivation you inspire...thanks."

    • 79 year old Dorothy Cash from Johnson City called to say, "Missy thank you for having a show for me, I'm 79 years old and I watch it every week!"

    • Amos Marshall called from Sevierville, "Hey Missy I've been watching you and have told all my friends to tune in". Amos is a very active senior who looks 20 years younger than his 80 age.

I hope this show serves to motivate people to do what they can to become more active and to try fun fitness activities (Hallerin Hill, host of WNOX Hallerin Hill show has appeared on the show and feels like his life has gained more quality and overall health by committing to an exercise routine last year. His segment featured different cardiovascular exercises including riding a stationary bike).
